In Julia Barry Bell’s MYSTIC CONVERSATIONS, a frazzled mom (Jenny Stsrassburg) seeking a little ME time encounters a no-nonsense mystic (Brenda Braxton). As the mystic reveals a bit of what she sees, the mom begins to entertain possibilities outside the realm of “normal.” At the same time, their son (Lincoln Cohen) feels comfortable enough to admit that he has seen spirits. Traditionally raised in the church, the dad (Brandon Jones) is having none of this spirit talk. The battle between religion, science, and spirituality affects all involved, including the sister (Frenie Acoba) and a spirit child (Nicky Torchia) who visits often.

Based on a true story, Bell presents the dilemma with humor, trepidation, frustration, and tenderness. Surely everyone believes in something they cannot see, but how far are they willing to take that belief? MYSTIC CONVERSATONS encourages expansion, inclusion, and enhancement if we have the courage to pursue what we cannot prove.
