Hats off to MIchael Levin for one of the most enjoyable productions I have seen this year. SOBER SONGS, A Musical, is one of those rare Off-Broadway gems you hope to find. Well, hope no more – this is it! The action takes place mostly at a series of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Attendees invite you to share their journey – the triumphs, the setbacks, the challenges, the fortitude, and whatever else may come their way. And they do it through entertaining songs full of clever lyrics, both raw and poignant, upbeat rhythms, creative choreography that emphasizes the special bond of the AA group, and a storyline that highlights each character and their unique story. So much so that you will fall in love with the entire group one by one. And don’t bother looking for a bad voice – you won’t find one. In fact, you find yourself wishing there was a soundtrack to be purchased.

How many times can you say clever in one review? Say it a few more times and go buy a ticket to SOBER SONGS. You will not be disappointed.
