David J. Glass’ SPARE PARTS ponders how far we will go to improve and preserve ourselves. Billionaire Zeit (Michael Genet) wants to live longer, and he is interviewing two scientists (Rob McClure and Matt Walker) to explore possibilities. Zeit’s efforts are enhanced by his assistant (Jonny-James Kajoba) and AI George. As ethics are stretched, opportunities are imagined, risks are minimalized or ignored, and secrets are revealed, Glass interjects a serious subject matter with humor. The superb cast breathes life into characters both vulnerable and self-serving. Ten years ago the story line would have probably been characterized as science fiction or at least futuristic. Not so today. SPARE PARTS asks and tries to answer the question we all have – how far can we go with advanced technology and is this really where we want to be? This is a great production that should be seen by all.
